Couture insects: Maor Zabar’s Zoological Headpieces

A unique intersection of zoology, art, and high fashion is showcased at ״The Museum of Man and Animal״ in Ramat Gan , Israel, in The new exhibition "Living Fashion".
The event explores the deep structural connection between wearable fashion and different animal species.

The exhibition bridged scientific zoological specimens with wearable art, transforming natural survival mechanisms—such as protection, courtship, texture, and structural design—into bold silhouettes and intricate headwear.

Among 12 prominent Israeli fashion designers selected to participate, Maor Zabar presents a striking series of avantgarde headpieces inspired by prey mantis.

The intricate anatomy, camouflage, and movement translated into sculptural, high-fashion millinery.
